Hayaikaze Kai Ken Puppies
Our Kai Ken puppies are AKC FSS registered, health screened with Embark, microchipped, and vaccinated appropriately for their age. Their parents have health testing with OFA and have solid, stable temperaments.
Puppies are dewormed with pamoate pyrantel at 2, 4, and 8 weeks old. They are also dewormed with fenbendazole at 6 weeks old and will have a fecal test performed prior to going to their new homes.
I take great care to extensively socialize the puppies with people, children, dogs, and other experiences they may encounter in the real world. For this reason puppies go to their new homes at 8 to 12 weeks old. They are raised inside our home where they become desensitized to the everyday sounds of life: vacuuming, cooking, the TV, music, people entering / leaving the house, dogs, cats, etc. --Previously I was under the belief that if puppies went home sooner, they'd have an easier time adjusting and learning the routine of their new home. I am now experimenting with keeping puppies longer, in the cases that I have they seem to be more confident and easier to manage for new owners. I believe this is due to their critical socialization period being narrow and not easy for new owners to navigate when they just want to enjoy their new puppy.
We practice many of the same exercises outlined in Puppy Culture/Avidog/ENS and do our best to start your puppy off right with potty training, obedience, and socialization.
Please read about us and our goals here.
Puppies will be matched based on both the family and the individual puppy's needs. New owners do not pick their own puppies. I spend 8+ weeks with them full time and know their strengths, weaknesses, potentials, and what family they will fit best with. None of this can be conveyed in a few 1 minute video clip or a cute picture. Trust me as your breeder that I will match the best puppy for you to you.
If you have preference regarding gender or color, be prepared to wait. I cannot control if we have a litter of all females and you would like a male, nor if a male that is available will suit your needs.
Our puppy price is $2,800.
Please fill out the questionnaire to contact me if you're interested in adding a Kai Ken to your family. Kai Ken are not for everyone and you will be asked multiple questions to ensure that you are a suitable home and ready for a puppy.
Deposits are $800 and non-refundable. Deposits are due once I have matched a puppy to you, which is typically around 6-7 weeks old. The deposit can apply to future litters if something unexpected happens and you are unable to take your puppy. The $800 deposit is subtracted from the price of $2,800, making the remaining balance $2,000. The remaining balance will be due before puppies leave our home.
Transportation of the puppy is not included in this price. There are a variety of methods for transportation (car, plane, etc.) that will be discussed.
